Dr. Sharon Foster Named Associate Provost for Research and Scholarship

After an extensive nationwide search that surfaced some excellent candidates, Alliant Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Russ Newman, PhD, has announced that Dr. Sharon Foster has been named to fill the position of Associate Provost for Research and Scholarship at Alliant InternationalUniversity. Dr. Foster has been a stalwart at Alliant for many years.

Dr. Foster is a Distinguished Professor at CSPP and is an accomplished researcher and scholar.Among her many accomplishments, she has published numerous articles on research methodology in an effort to provide teaching tools for beginning researchers. The book Dr. Foster co-authored with John Cone, Dissertations and Theses in Psychology from Start to Finish, is a best-seller for the American Psychological Association.

Dr. Foster has contributed methodological and analytical oversight for a multi-site, multi-million dollar, five year NIMH grant. She has served as a journal reviewer and as an Associate Editor for professional journals and is well-versed in the publication process.

Of the appointment, Dr. Newman, said, " Dr. Foster's varied experiences and contributions to the field will bring much expertise to her new position. I could not have hoped for a finer addition to the Provost's Office as we continue the important task of developing the University's scholarship activities and abilities."
