The CSPP Dean's Service and Advocacy Fund exists to provide institutional support for an enhanced program of service activities for CSPP students, faculty, and alumni in the coming year. CSPP at Alliant International University is rooted in the belief that providing service to local communities enhances the development of a caring collective consciousness of giving back. Beyond the incredible services you contribute to your respective communities in the mental health professional field, our students and alumni, faculty and staff are committed to making an impact on society and to results that make a difference in the lives of individuals, couples, families, schools, organizations, companies, and nations alike.

 

Our students continue to inspire this culture of service with projects such as the relief our Hong Kong PsyD students have provided to earthquake survivors in China. Indeed, it is engrained in the professional field of psychology and the history of this institution, and is reflected in CSPP's mission statement: "CSPP's mission is to provide the highest quality education, training, research and service in professional psychology and related human services fields. We strive to improve the quality of life by addressing major contemporary issues in a problem solving way, by fostering respect for human diversity in a multicultural society and by combating discrimination in all of its forms. CSPP is committed to exhibiting the highest professional and ethical standards to addressing the needs of individuals and organizations, and to serving those who are underserved."

 

Enhancing a program of service activities is a large task. Whether it be in response to a crisis, such as earthquake relief, or as a general contribution to our community, such as Alliant's participation in national Make a Difference Day, our family here at CSPP hopes to increase the impact we are having by offering a wider array of service activities. As we reflect on the current national economic situation, we empathize with the growing need for public service. We are strengthening our presence in the community in solidarity under the concept and action of giving back. We are empowered by your single act of giving, in that it allows a multitude of others to serve. However, this contribution does more than just this, it exemplifies for our students that caring and service stand the test of time. Thank you for your participation and leadership.
